Pastor Chris Newton
Chris and Leah Newton are the youth pastors at Two Rivers Church. They have been married for 14 years and have 3 sons- Isaiah, Elijah, and Caleb. Although Chris was originally a native of Phoenix, Chris’ father served in the Army and was a church planter, so he has lived in many different places. Leah was raised in Clymer, NY, a small Dutch/Amish community. After marrying while in college, they spent the next 13 years serving on the coast, primarily in Kentucky and Tennessee.
Chris was first licensed as a Foursquare minister in 1999, and was later ordained in 2005. After working in full time ministry for six years, Chris began teaching middle and high school science and mathematics. He felt there was a great need to reach the youth in public education who were being inundated with naturalism and Darwinism. Chris has a B.S. in Technology Management from Berea College, two years of Bible College at the former Life School of Ministry in Nashville, TN, and is currently working on his Master of Education. Leah is currently finishing her education degree.
Together, Chris and Leah have served in various ministry roles, including children’s pastor, youth pastor, campus minister, worship director, and associate pastor. They have also been involved in new church plants and in the strengthening and mentoring of young plants.
