November 23, 2008 - "Overcoming the World" - Many people do not realize the power they have as a Christian. Because the Holy Spirit lives within us, we have access to the same power that resurrected Jesus Christ from the dead. November 16, 2008 - "Perfect Love Casts Out Fear" - Pastor Tom continues teaching from 1 John and arrives at verses 4:14-21. The Apostle John in the entire book of 1 John is leading up to the points he makes in these seven verses and in many ways it could be said that the message is at the heart of the letter. November 9, 2008 - "Special Service" - This service was interrupted by the Holy Spirit and hence there was no message. In a powerful hour and half of praise and worship God revealed His living presence and poured out His spirit on the congregation.

November 2, 2008 - "Not That We Loved " - This is a message reminding believers of the foundations of Christ's teaching - love. We lose sight of the fact that love is from God, and everyone who loves is born from God. A basic adherence to this truth can free us from bondage and misery. The message is from 1Jon 4:7-13. October 26, 2008 - "Battleground of Life" - Teaching from 1 John 4:1-6 Pastor Tom reminds everyone that we live on a battleground and not a playground. That is why every Christian needs to test the spirits and turn away from those that do not proclaim Christ as Lord. October 19, 2008 - "Confidence Before God" - Our God is an awesome God and His judgment is real. A Christian must have a healthy fear of the Lord. October 12, 2008 - "The Message Heard From the Begriming" - Continuing in the series, Pastor Tom teaches the basic scriptural principles to set the course of a Christians life. Based on 1 John 3: 11-18, this message captures the fundamental message of Christianity: love. October 5, 2008 - "Giving and Receiving Blessings" - Taking a break from 1 John, Dr. Justin Smith takes us back to Genesis 27 and teaches on the nature of blessing and how we as Christians can be a blessing to those around us. He teaches from 1 John 2:28-3:3 and explains how abiding in Him means enjoying the love of God at a deeper level which in turn causes a progressive positive change in our lives. August 31, 2008 - "Is There Any Proof in the Pudding" - Continuing from the book of 1 John, Pastor Tom teaching from chapter 2 verses 3 - 11. These verses discuss how important it is for Christians to be obedient to what God is asking them to do. These are foundational verses for practicing obedience. August 24, 2008 - "Fellowship: Choosing Light Over Darkness" - This is a message from 1 John 1:5-2:2. Pastor Tom discusses the foundation for fellowship (it begins with God), how light permits true fellowship (1 John 1:9) and the manner in which God defends fellowship. August 10, 2008 - "The Surprisingly Secret Weapon" - Being thankful is an important aspect of living an abundant Christian life. Citing examples of how not having a thankful heart lead to many unnecessary tribulation for the Israelites, Pastor Tom encourages the congregation to remember the importance of having a thankful heart. August 3, 2008 - "Overcoming Selfishness by Becoming Thankful" - Two of the main problems facing the church is self pity and self-centeredness. When these two negative characteristics combine with a search for significance the result many times is catastrophic. July 27, 2008 - "Finding Fulfillment in Jesus" - Pastor Garth Heckman visits from Harmony Church in Minnesota and teaches from Genesis 3:16-19. June 29, 2008 - "Steps to Tomorrow" - In this message Pastor Tom reminds us that the small decisions we make on a daily basis are preparations for the big decisions in life. June 22, 2008 - "Let's Roll" - Youth Pastor Paul Street teaches from Isaiah 58 and encourages believers to stand up to the spiritual attack from the devil. He points out that the devil is scheming to take out the church and it is very important for Christians to rise up and claim the victory Jesus Christ has won for us. June 15, 2008 - "Fathers Day Message" - Dr. Justin Smith teaches from Luke 15:11-24 and looks at the story of the prodigal son from the perspective of the father. Challenging us to imitate the Heavenly Father in all the ways we live our lives, Dr. Smith provides an inspiring insight into the great love of Christ. June 8, 2008 - "Severing the Past Forever" - Learning to live free is not easy. In today's message Pastor Tom teaches from Exodus 13:17 - 14:31, when the Israelites flee from Egypt and the Lord parts the Red Sea. June 1, 2008 - "First Things First" - This message could also be titled "Getting Off the Tread Mill" - in that after we come to Christ, we are free from all the past strongholds of life which kept us down. Citing the experience of the Israelites in Exodus 5 and 6, Pastor Tom reminds Christians of the freedom we have in Christ and why we should live fully in this freedom. May 25, 2008 - "When Life Loses Its Sweetness" - This is a message from Exodus 15:22-27. Pastor Tom applies Israel's experience and testing with bitter water to make a point of how when life hands us bitter water we can turn to the Lord to make it sweet. May 18, 2008 - "Manna in the Morning'" - In relating a message from the series "Learing to Live Again", Pastor Tom teaches from Exodus 16:1-30. He reinforces the idea that the Christian life requires a daily devotion with God. This is akin to the Isrealites relying on the manna which only appeared for that day's meal. April 20, 2008 - "God is my Refuge" - Pastor Tom teaches from Psalm 46: 1-11 and asks the congregation to make God their stronghold in times of difficulty. In many tough circumstances people tend to look to themselves and others, but not to God. The christians first response should always be to turn to God as their refuge. April 13, 2008 - "Released From Shame: Caterpillars in a Butterfly World" - Dr. Justin Smith teaches from 2 Corinthians 7:9 discusses the difference between fleshly and Godly sorrow. This is a message is in a way a continuation of Shane's message from a few weeks ago and solidifies why Christians need to know that because of Jesus Christ, God sees them as good. He brings to our attention the importance of being "in action" - or doing what we have been growing into in the Bible. February 24, 2008 - "The Obedient Christian" - In completing the current sermon series, Pastor Tom discusses the importance of obedience in a Christians life. While the message starts with Romans 12:1 and John 14:21, it is centered around the conversation between Samuel and King Saul in 1 Samuel 15:10 - 30.
