Words on a page aren’t enough to accurately testify and honor God for what He has, and is doing here. Nearly every day I wish that I could spend an hour with each of my close friends back home, sharing the cultural, spiritual, or even physical realities that I am privileged to experience. I feel SO blessed that God has allowed me to come away from my family and country to experience something so different, and life-changing. I thank God for giving me people dedicated to sow into what we are doing out here for this season. I know one day we will return to you to let you share in the fruit and knowledge that we are partaking in now.

The first phase of the Discipleship Training School that we are leading is called the Lecture Phase. Each week we have a different speaker on a different topic, then we go into the community on Thursday and Friday afternoons (as well as every other Saturday) to activate what has been imparted on us during the week. For the first few weeks, there seemed to be a spiritual oppression over the school, with many of the students refusing to engage the process and the life-giving teaching. They wouldn’t pray out loud, worship, or even encourage. It was upsetting.

Then, last week, the truth came out. We had a “strong man” in the group-and after investigating and praying, we were moved to ask one of the students to go home. It was difficult for both staff and student, but we knew the spiritual atmosphere would benefit from this departure. Since then, we have seen a vast improvement in unity, involvement, and spiritual activity! Hallelujah!
We have seen 6 of the 9 students receive the gift of tongues (it was the 6 that wanted the gift of tongues), and have seen God use our students to preach, heal, and give prophetic words that are spot on! I was even given the opportunity to baptize 7 students in a lake at the base-I only found out after I exited the water that it is leech infested! Aguste rushed me to our bathroom to clean them off! Such is the life of a missionary.

There are still struggles-most of them tied to past hurts and unforgiveness, or simply a symptom of relating to God (and His sometimes unorthodox, uncomfortable ways of doing things) out of our intellect, not the Spirit. Somehow, many believers (especially westerners) have been tricked by the devil that they have to understand what God is doing, for it to be God. The response God gave me to this: READ YOUR BIBLE!

Show me someone who got their name into the Bible who always understood and agreed with what God was doing before they obeyed!

Anyhow, we are a month away from going on outreach for 6 weeks to remote parts of Namibia, where many in the villages have never heard the Gospel message. Please pray for us, as a team, that we will be in one accord as we see miracles and transformations in people’s lives! Thank you my faithful friends!

It is our hope that when Aguste and I come to visit, we will be given the opportunity to minister and impart the spiritual anointing God is pouring out on us. We long to run another Father Heart encounter, as well as a Holy Spirit seminar…turning what the world says is foolishness into reality in God’s wisdom!

A Bhutanese widow with four children (10 yrs+) is illiterate. She can not read or write in English. This has hampered her ability to get good work and become integrated to society. She is looking for someone to volunteer two hours a week and teach her to read and write English. She lives on 40th Street right off of the 202. So, it’s not too far away. She would prefer the mornings since her children are in school during that time.

She is familiar with the Gospel but it is hard to know how much she believes – so there is a very powerful spiritual dimension to this. Two over her children are born-again believers, but the other two are not. If this is something you are interested in helping with please let me know. I can facilitate the introduction and also help you with any ESL teaching materials you might need.

Service opportunity to help out foster families (from Rebecca Moehring):
One of the largest needs of foster families is babysitting because they have to have sitters who are 18 or older. Please respond (becca@themoehrings.com) if you would be willing to be a baby sitter for a foster family in the east valley. Negotiations on times and prices will be made by you and you can turn down any request. Most families would be willing to bring the kids to your house and pick them back up.
